Pain and Bleeding Post-Op

I had my TLH on July 13th. I am having to wear a pad all the time because I am still bleeding. I also am having pain like cramps. Is this normal or should I be worried? It has been 21 days since my surgery.

Re: Pain and Bleeding Post-Op

I can't completely answer your question, but I can extend what my hospital discharge papers say. I had a TVH and my paperwork says:

Pain: It is normal to experience a cramping pain in your pelvic area following the surgery. This pain will increase when your bladder is full. If you are constipated or if you just need to move your bowels. too much physical activity may also make it worse.

Vaginal Bleeding: This should be very minimal. a mini pad should suffice, but the color may vary from brown to bright red. Occassionally, as the stitches disolve you may get some bright red bleeding about 3-5 weeks after surgery. This is normal unless it is excessive.
