Doctor suggesting HRT

I don't know what I think about this.
I had a TVH thinking I would keep my ovaries and all would be fine. NOOOOOO they are not working. Doc said there is not a magic time frame where ovaries might or might not wake up. And there is not an easy way to tell if my ovaries are infact crapping out or asleep.
He suggest 6-12 months of HRT and then going off to see if the ovaries have time to "heal" and start working again.
I don't know how I feel about this. My family has a high rate of breast cancer. So I am worried.

I don't know what kind to take....pill,patch anything. I could really use some guidance before I go see him so I know what to ask about.

Re: Doctor suggesting HRT

You can read more about your options in the articles at www.hormonejungle.com The articles are printable so you can print them out to take in with you to discuss with your doctor.

Your doctor is correct, there is no magic time frame as to when the ovaries will wake up. You are still fairly early post op. If you choose to start on hrt, I would suggest a low dose. You may also want to ask your doctor to do a FSH test to see what the ovaries are or are not doing.
