I'm giving in

I'm going to allow my doctor to put me on HRT. I don't know what else to do. I am misreable. The headaches are dibilitating. The moodiness...the lack of energy.
I sore I would never ever take hormones. But I am misreable. I am afraid of getting breast cancer. But I can't live in fear, and I can't live my life being misreable either.
So Doc is calling me in some premerin .3 mg.

he said to give it 3 weeks before making my mind up if I needed a change or a dosage change. I don't know alot about hormones. But I have been reading and I am anxious to see if this is going to help me.

Re: I'm giving in

I hope it helps. After so many years with no HRT I'm on it now and felt better in a couple days. I hope you have similar luck.

Re: I'm giving in

Today will be day 3 on it. I can honestly say the headaches are better. Not gone, but better. The depression I was feeling is getting better. I had no idea depression was one of the symptoms of the "change" I honestly did not want to get out of bed or take a shower. I just wanted to lay around all day and have everyone leave me alone. I have small kids though...so that's not an option. but I have been a very unhappy person for a few months now. I feel almost back to my old self today. minus still having a headache. But I felt good today...happy.

Re: I'm giving in

Some women are at risk of breast cancer, but not all of us have the increased risk that was shouted about in the newspapers - there's been a lot more detailed examination of some of those studies & their flaws.

I haven't had a single migraine since I had my ovaries removed (yeah!). I'm on a medium dose patch. Continue working the hrt regimin until you feel better, and if it's taking too long, have your general dr check out your thyroid, vitamin levels, etc. And, nothing wrong with an antidepressant to help.

Re: I'm giving in

Thanks, I'm praying they work. Especially a low dose. He said to give it 3 weeks before I decide if I need more or a different kind.
