Question - Post lvh, anterior repair and tot!! Post lvh, anterior repair and tot!!

I am now 10 days out after a vaginal hysterectomy, sacral colpopexy with mesh and TOT. I am doing AMAZINGLY WELL. I was expecting to be down for the count for two weeks and that is not the case. The only discomfort I have now is pain when I poop. It is across my bladder and lower back and really takes my breath away. I do not know if others have had this. I do have sometimes slight discomfort with urination like a bladder infection but that is not too bad.

I have been swiffering and helping with my kitteis and rabbits with feeding and watering as nothing weighs more than five pounds. Has anyone else been able to get up and do things...just curious. I do have a bulgy feeling sometimes in my vagina like my cystocele is still there but I am attributing that to vaginal swelling....any others with this???? Overall I was expecting to be so much worse off based on many of the posts. I did a lot of yoga before I went in for surgery and mybe it has to do with the Bikram yoga and strenth in the core and arms and legs.

Re: Post lvh, anterior repair and tot!!

I'm happy to hear you're doing so great already!! I too, am feeling better than I thought I would. I have some issues related to the sling, but other than that, I'm doing very well! I was surprised that after 3 or 4 days, I was walking around doing little things, needing nothing for pain until late in the day, and only then if I overdid it.

I'm trying to be careful - I know we're still healing - and none us needs any extra scar tissue haunting us months, or years from now!

Post lvh, anterior repair and tot!!

Dear Sunshine...glad to here u r doing well. Yesterday I think I may have done too much my 14 year old cat got moved out the day before and would not come in because she is unhappy that we got a new dog. I walked all day calling and looking for her and at end of day in my despondence I decides to pull some tree shoots out of my shade garden. One was very tough, but is got it out and then felt a gush of something. Had a bit of bleeding and am so upset I undid anything. I wonder if some women make the same type of mistakes and don't undo there sling or sacropoplexy? Have u had any sharp twinges in you vaginal or urethra/bladder since ur surgery. I did last night...not PAIN per se' just twinges. Of coarse I am convinced I have undone all of it. My vagina is still up there though!!! Still have rectal pain as before so maybe all is well. Have u made any misjudgments in the lifting department???? Susan

Re: Post lvh, anterior repair and tot!!

I was still having pain with bm at that stage. Take those stool softeners, drink lots and lots of water, and try to relax when taking care of business.

Remember to rest, sometime too! LOL

Re: Post lvh, anterior repair and tot!!

I have been remiss in the water department!! I will start up drinking more today. I have got tot stop obsessing about yesterday and just rest and forget about it. Seriously just so afraid under the new obmama care that if I did screw things up they will think me too old to re fix it!
