Has anyone used Bi-Est (Estriol & Estrogen) or just Estriol?

I am post-menopausal and 1 month post-hysterectomy. I had a controversial LSH and kept my ovaries and cervix despite having a pre-cancerous diagnosis. After biopsy I did indeed have a Stage 1 small cancer area. I cannot take Progestrone due to extreme side effects (in any form) yet need to take Estrogen, which is of course how I got the cancer. Obviously I need to stop taking straight Estrogen, but need the benefits I've received. (Please, no judgements or opinions!)

I have just learned about the 80% Estriol/20% Estrogen combo as being much safer. Has anyone taken this? Does anyone know is just taking Estriol alone give all the same benefits of straight Estrogen? I will be talking to the physician to originally prescribed my hormones but can't get in to see her for a while.

I've had my hormones tested many times so know what I am low and high in. I'm just wanting info on anyone using either of the Bi-Est or straight Estriol. Thanks!

I've tried both. At one point I tried estriol only. It takes a really large amount to get relief from most menopausal symptoms. It is excellent at relieving vaginal dryness when inserted vaginally.

I use and have used bi est for quite some time. Estriol by itself will probably not help for symptoms such as hot flashes, mood swings, etc. But it can be a help for vaginal dryness when applied vaginally.

Re: Has anyone used Bi-Est (Estriol & Estrogen) or just Estriol?

Thanks, Kim. Since I'm very post-menopausal, my symptoms are not hot flashes or even vaginal dryness (probably because I take estrogen). I am wondering if the Estriol works for the benefits I currently get, such as energy, mood support, younger looking skin and hair, weight control, sex drive, etc. I will check out the link- thank you.

P.S.- I am wondering about adding the Estriol to my current Estrogen (or taking Bi-Est) and how much cancer protection that would have- I realize you all are not physicians, I have just found that we women can have much more actual experience with this.
