Should I keep taking HRT

Hello sisters,
I had a total hysto 8 years ago, been on Vivelle for 8 years, with descreasing doses rom 1.0 mg to .35 mg dose.
Recently two weeks ago I experienced thyroid pain in the neck, took my multi's and it went away. But I have since forgotten my patch a week ago and have no sympoms like usual, (hot flashes etc). Opinion here, do you think that at almost 40 I could be done with HRT. I see my DR in a couple of weeks. I will do some blood tests then. So should I remain off the HRT if I feel well? How long should you be on HRT, average? What effects will my young body endure without any hormones at my age? What would you do? Its a hormone jungle out there?

Re: Should I keep taking HRT

I've been using hrt since I had my tah/bso in 1999. My doctor says that I can continue using it as long as I need to. I do have my annual exams, to include mammogram and bloodwork. As long as that checks out, she says I am good to go. Honestly, I cannot imagine stopping the hrt. I have enough problems without having to deal with hormone imbalance also!
