Polyp that was not a polyp after surgery and is now a polyp after biopsy?

Hi I am just confused as all get out. I have been having abnormal uterine bleeding for three months straight now with a change in menses for 4 years.

I had a hysteroscopy and D&C last week because my doctor was sure I had polyps.

After the surgery I was informed that there were no polyps found.

Today I called for the pathology report and he said all was fine no cervical or endo cancer.... it was a polyp. (but they found endometrial cells on my cervix, what does that mean?)

I informed him I was still bleeding and cramping really bad, he said they may have left a polyp behind?

So my questions are.... has this happened to anyone else? How can they say no polyps were found after seeing my endo lining and now there are polyps and one might have even been left behind?

Also, could the hormone therapy they put me on to stop the bleeding change my biopsy results? Has anyone else been diagnosed with benign polyps (that were not seen as polps) and then had hysterectomy and found out they had hyperplasia or even cancer?

And what now, I don't trust them enough to believe a word they say....

I know... get another opinion... I will, but in the meantime has anyone else had this experience? I want to breath a sigh of relief... but it is hard to do when I am still bleeding and I don't trust my doctors now.

( I am also very mad because THEY didn't call me to tell me my pathology I HAD TO CALL THEM! What is wrong with these doctors... don't they know you are worried sick and they left me waiting.... ARRRGGG!)

Re: Polyp that was not a polyp after surgery and is now a polyp after biopsy?

I just had the same surgery on June 14th this year and it hasn't helped at all. I have endo very bad and in remission of cervical cancer. This is the 2nd time I have had this surgery, 1st time things went great. This time my cramps and pains is worse than before my surgery. I am only 26 years old and I have been dealing with this for years. I have never had a regular period, always just lite period but miserable cramps. I hardly ever bleed. I think everyone is different after surgery. After my 1st surgery they put me on some blood thiners and some type of meds to stop me from bleeding and it worked wonders. Good luck and keep your head up!
