My pets

Just wanted to tell ya about my pets. I have a black lab, Skipper, that loves to fetch. We throw tennis balls for him all the time and I'm threatening to get one of those machines that throws the ball cause he'll wear you out. He's a lot of fun. Also, he's been snorfleed. Was that way when we got him.

We have one cat, Itchy. She doesn't stay in the house all the time, just most of the time. If she hears the water running in the bathroom, she's there in a flash. She loves to watch the water running in the tub and the sink. Itchy has been snorfleed.

I have a horse, Tucker. He's half Quarter horse and half Thoroughbred and can be a handful at times. I had a friend that lives in the Texas Panhandle ride him for about 8 months. This friend works on a ranch and put Tucker to work. It helped him more than anything. He settled down a lot when I got him home. I sent him in February of this year, right before I had my surgery. I wanted him gone before the surgery and just recently got him back. I sure enjoy riding him. We live in the country and I have all the country roads to ride on. The leaves are starting to turn to beautiful colors and the air is so crisp and clean. We live about a 2 miles from our local community college. They have a rodeo arena so I can ride there too. Tucker has also been fixed, he's a gelding.

I told my husband the other day that he was the only one on the place that hadn't been fixed. He got that deer caught in the headlights look and then grinned.

Thanks for listening,

P.S.

I was looking for the chat room and stumbled across this. Hope I can get into chat. I'm kind a new at this.

Wink - My pets Woof!!

Oh Cyd....I love Siberian Huskies! My "baby" is always getting mistaken for one...though she is really a full breed Alaskan Malamute...Zoe. I adopted her back in April...had gone to the shelter with my friend to find a birthday kitten. Well..I saw Zoe (who was nameless at that time!) and fell in love! (Happens that this was right after I discovered I would have a hyster!!) The kids did not think I was for real...Gary thought I was insane...and when I really did bring her home, they all flipped! (I have a beautiful Russian Blue kitty, too...Gabrielle...will be 8 on the twins birthday....November 11th!!)

Now...everyone just LOVES Zoe (She is "daddies baby" too...Gary wants her at his house! He says if we ever split up...he would get shared custody!!)...and she is so incredibly smart...has a LOT of natural abilities that just amaze me! She alerts me to the door and phone...any unusual noise...but only when the kids are gone and she knows no one else can tell me! My hearing ear dog! She shakes, sits, stays, alternates left and right paws when told, and most recently...she flips a treat from her nose, to her mouth...waiting until I say, "O.K.!" Cool, hunh!?

Will tell you all about my kitty in another post! Oh...wanted to add...one reason I adopted Zoe...was after reading in a magazine about the health benefits of a pet. They say that healing from surgery is easier with a pet! Really! (Gary tried to tell me that was just my way of excusing it!) Oh...also, Zoe was about a year old when I adopted her...so she is a little over 1.5...
