Prometrium after LAVH? (YES-Ovaries!)

Currently I am taking 200mg of Prometrium orally before bedtime for 21 days on & 7 days off. The Prometrium has really helped me sleep better, stopped the night sweats I was having, cleared up some weird painful acne on my neck, & softened my hair when it started to go brittle. These seemed to be some perimenopausal symptoms I was having.

My doctor didn't think I'd need ANY hormone replacement after the total hysterectomy I'm having as I should be KEEPING THE OVARIES. Does anybody know anything about this or where I could look for more info?

It is difficult to say whether you will or won't need hrt. Your ovaries may go to sleep for awhile following surgery and than wake back up. Everyone is different. Only time will tell.
