TVH (Aug.20) lack of sleep and nervous (kids mentioned)

I am starting to get nervous as my help leaves Friday. I have not been sleeping well at night due to being uncomfortable as well as just being wide awake. I have 4 children all under 8 and Tuesday I begin the rest of this journey on my own with no help.
I'm just really nervous as most people say not to do too much. . .any suggestions?

I too have 4 children (fortunatley not all so young), but with this experience of mom not being able to do EVERYTHING they might as well be. First off, try to relax, nervousness i;m sure can not help in the healing process. Next, you just try and get by with the basics,,,if it can stay where it is,,,let it stay. Deal with only what HAS to be done, i.e a meal for the children then relax. wash up one child at a time, maybe one in morning one at night, next day the other two. Laundry, try to make it a game for the kids,,,the smaller they are the more they "want" to help. Let them help sort the clean clothes and get them into the right drawers,,,who cares if they are folded - that takes too much energy you may need for something else. As for the sleeping, i have a 3 1/2 yr old that is still in my bed and the next oldest is 5, so I havent slept more than 4 hrs a night in a verrrrry long time. Uncomfy,,,yes I have that too, I had to find a pillow that worked nicely between my legs so i could lie down and also help support the "swelly belly". I hope some of my suggestions can help u. The most important thing i think to remember is that it will all get done in the end so dont WORRY about it now. take one day at a time. Best of luck!

Maybe you can ask your help to prepare some meals that can be frozen, for the days you just can't cook. Stock up on food that require little preparation - canned soups, cold cuts for sandwiches, frozen pizza. Paper plates, plastic cups and cutlery. Anything to make your life a little easier. I'm sure the sisters will have many great ideas. Try not to worry too much, kids can be very adaptable and quite grown up when they want to be.

Thanks ladies. You have some good ideas! I will just have to remind myself to go slowly and do only what I can.
