Re: first words when you woke up

LOL that is funny! I woke up the first time, and I just looked at the nurse and asked, "Where's my husband?" The nurse suggested I try to close my eyes and get a little more rest, and I flipped out on her!
I said to her,"You told me that when I had a conversation with you that my husband could come back here; I am having a conversation with you and I WANT MY HUSBAND!" They got him in there in less than two minutes!

Re: first words when you woke up

My first words were, "I have to pee." The nurse said not to worry about that I had a cath in. It took me a minute to process what she said.

Re: first words when you woke up

Lol, this is embarrassing, but my first words I reached towards my mouth, "are my teeth in?" Lol. I have a partial and I didn't want family to see me without my teeth. Lol.

Re: first words when you woke up

I asked three questions as soon as I woke up:

1.) Did she do it laparoscopically or did I get the big incision? Answer: Big incision! (The surgeon said there was a 50/50 chance she would be able to avoid the abdominal route.)

2.) Do I still have my ovaries? Answer: YES!!

3.) How much did it weigh? Answer: 7 pounds (but they were joking)

Yes, I really did ask all this right away before I said anything else!

Re: first words when you woke up

Mine weren't quite as funny as all of the ones that you have posted. Mine was where are the pain meds. I was in so much pain when I woke up that I started to cry and thought I was going to die. She gave me a shot of something and then hooked up my pain pump. She tried to explain it to me and I didn't comprehend in my drugged state and she had to tell me twice more before I understood.

Re: first words when you woke up

To my Mom & Sister I apologized for taking so long. When I came to my first request was for my glasses. I have very poor vision and I had no idea what was going on around me.
