Re: funny first words when you woke up

Reading this now, after the fact I have been there, is funny. I am trying to think what I said first thing. I remember more about trying to wake up and get my bearings straight. I remember looking around to see where I was and spotted a clock up on a wall and tried to concentrate to see what time it was. Then it hit me that I was SO cold! I think the first thing I said was, "I'm cold." I was shivering. I remember the nurse giving me ice chips and I was like...ahhhh, thank you. Then I felt like my chest was heavy and I couldn't breath too well. I wasn't alarmed, but nervous about how I felt. I then heard a page over the intercom for cardiology and they were paging them to my bed number (Which I can't remember now!).

Thank God for the epidural! My husband, mom and sister couldn't believe how alert I was when they were able to see me shortyly after I woke up.

Thanks for the fun post!

Re: funny first words when you woke up

I woke up and my first words that I remember were "are you sure they did the surgery? I still have cramps!". I went in with my period and had cramps when I woke up so I thought they didn't do the surgery.

I am sorry, but this really made me laugh! I had to stop and think when I woke up too....I was thinking, "Is it over?"

Re: funny first words when you woke up

Today is my 9th Hysterversary. In the recovery room I heard my husband say, "Should I tell her?" I screamed "Tell me What?" I thought they were talking about cancer when they were actually talking about the horrible events of 9-11 that happened while I was in surgery. Not a funny story but one that gives me chills every time I think about it.

Re: funny first words when you woke up

My first words were "Where is my husband?" they told me that I would see him in a little bit and I kept telling them that "this is all his fault!" LOL. I kept asking my Daddy to whip him because he did this to me.
