Having severe pain 16 wks after TAH

I had an emergency TAH on 6/14/01. I am a 31 yrs old and have been dealing with severe fibriords for about 7 yrs. I have had two myomecomies and my third resulted in the unexpected hyst. My problem is that I have been doing well up until a few weeks ago. I started having some pain in then same general area of where I had the most pain before my surgery. The pain, which is now different is still very painful. It feels like a sharp, long buring feeling. It lasts up until 30 seconds. Has anyone had a similar issue? Is this scar tissue healing? It hurts and I don't want to bother my doc if it is nothing. Thanks so much.

New pain this far post op should definitely be reported to your doctor. You should be feeling better, not worse. Besides, doctors get paid to be bothered.

I would be calling the doc to if for no other reason than to make sure things are still on track for you...

I don't think you should be in "pain" this far along either..

let us know what the doc says...

Having severe pain after 16 wks after TAH

Hi Amy,

I agree with the others that you should call your Dr...any time you're concerned, for that matter.

Did you do anything particularly strenuous before this happened? The reason I ask is that at 4 months, there is still healing going on inside, and you are not too far along to have possibly overdone it. A GYN states that it takes at least 6 months to a year to heal totally inside...just something to keep in mind.

Let us know what your Dr. says!

My very best to you...

Go to your dr! If he says it's normal, and the pain continues, keep pestering him until he takes you seriously, or find another dr! Please take good care of yourself, and listen to your body - most of the time it knows best!

Stacey (TAH w/burch and appendectomy) kept ovaries (for now)
