why is the standard script for estrogen 1 milligram>

I agree with Vliet's philosophy that estrogen doses should be individualized to each patient.
I am taking two 1 milligram patches per wearing. I burn estrogen up incredibly fast. Physically active, fast metabolism.
Am I on too high of a dose? I useOTC nat, prog. cream everynight, prob. more like 4-5 pumps not the usual** 3pumps. . My prog. is only about a 2.
Should I try cutting my patches down slowly?

(((Ann))), if you feel good on the doses of the hormones you are using, I wouldn't worry about it. Hormone therapy is an individual thing and we don't all do well at the same levels. You're under your doctor's care and go for an annual well woman checkup, right? That's what I do and my doctor is fine with the doses of hormones I am using. I really don't think about it anymore because I'm balanced and feel really good. I get a mammogram each year and also have a pelvic exam, breast exam and vaginal vault smear (Pap). My doctor also has added a bone scan every two years.
