Sudden breast symptoms after 6 years?

Sorry I couldn't find a better subject line!

I joined HysterSisters right before my surgery in 2004 and found lots of good information and really enjoyed the community here.

So I've drifted off but now I am having breast swelling and tenderness like I have never had before... worrysome!

My stats are: Surgical menopause in 2004, two oopherectomies in the last 3 years. On estradiol from the beginning, but I have used it sparingly after some initial overdosing.

My diet is not unusual and I don't think I'm injesting anything with estrogen in it, yet I am experiencing strange symptoms for me.

Can anyone give me a clue as to what's happening and if I should worry?? Thanks...

Because of the swelling and tenderness I would make an appt with your regular doc just to be on the safe side. Other than that it could also be soy causing problems. I am not allowed to take any hormones so I was taking a mixture that contained soy and my breast started getting sore and "lumpy" just like they did before my period. When I went to the doc he said that anything that can mimic estrogen can mimic the side effects. Also if you are taking anything "herbal" for menopause, it could be causing the problems. Like I stated before I would still call and get an appointment just to be safe but many things other than estrogen can have that effect.
