Da Vinci Hysterectomy Consult

Hi all,

Had my consult with my gyn today regarding the chronic endometritis and fibroids and all the rest. She totally understood me wanting an hysterectomy to get my life back.

I wrote all my symptoms down last night to get it all straight in my head and I was surprised to see it all listed there. I hadn't realized it before but between the PMDD symptoms that last from ovulation to bleeding, and then my week of bleeding I only have 1 good week per month.

So she's referred me to a colleague of hers within the same practice who specializes in Da Vinci Hysterectomies. My surgical consult with him is Sept 23.

Uuugh. I can't wait to be done with all of this! I had to call up and ask for the consultation appointment with her today but I'm so glad I did. She was very patient and she listened to everything I had to say. So ladies, if you're not getting the answers you need via phone calls and messages - call up and ask for a consult appointment to sit down and talk about everything. It made a huge difference for me!

I have had great success with consultation type appointments myself with several of my doctors! It can be so helpful to just be able to sit and talk everything over with your medical professionals!

I hope your upcoming consult goes well with the da Vinci surgeon!

Bring a notebook and write down all of your questions before hand. It helps to keep track as you are bombarded with information. I just went through my check list and was happy that I managed to get all of my questions answered.

I've had two consultation meetings with my doctors, and I really feel better now that I have much more info. Even after your consult it's good to keep jotting down questions as they arise so you can have a new list when you see your doctor again. :-)
