Arrow - Since Climara is made from soy do you have to be careful about it affacting thyroid? Since Climara is made from soy do you have to be careful about it affacting thyroid?

Hi,
I asked a similar question about premarin vag. cream. I was concerned about me being allergic to horses and using premarin vag. cream since it was made originally from horse's urine. SurferBabe said no as once converted in the lab it is not the same.
Is that also true of using Climara?
It started out as soy but is no longer that chemically?
I know any estradiol [can] [does] affect thyroid output correct?
I am not on thyroid medicine but I know before BHRT I did have nodules on my thyroid. But- the endocrinologist said about 75% of ppl out there are walking around with nodules. I did nothing further. He did not offer any thyroid meds . so I let it go.

I should also add that I also take a good quality USP OTC Natural progesterone cream every night.
I assume its balancing the estrogen levels and thus having a good effect on the thyroid.

So hopefully I can continue on with climara since this was the only patch I felt mostly normal on....
Thanks

Re: Since Climara is made from soy do you have to be careful about it affacting thyro

I'm not sure. But I understand Vivelle is derived from yam, if you have not yet tried that and want to try non soy. I am also on thyroid and have had no need to adjust it while using Climara. If you are doing OK on Climara and your thyroid checks out OK, you might just want to stick with what's working.
