have my ovaries stopped working?

I had a TVH on 9th September they left my ovaries behind but ever since surgery I have been having hot flushes several times a day I have horrendous night sweats and wake up drenched every morning and I have had a headache that does not respond to any type or amount of painkillers for the last 5 days and to top it off today my mood has dipped really low and I find myself in tears for no reason I just feel so down.

Could it be that my ovaries have not yet woken up from surgery or could it be that they are now not working I spoke to my GP and she said she thinks my problem is tension and to relax more, I am relaxing I spend everyday on the sofa with the odd walk and trips to the toilet etc. I know it's only early days but i feel so rough and its nothing to do with the part of me they operated on.

What you're experiencing isn't unusual. Many women report menopause symptoms post-op even when they have kept their ovaries. Your symptoms sound like they would respond well to additional estrogen. Have you talked to your surgeon? I'd get a second opinion about this. I hope you feel better soon!
