Question - Considering HRT.... HELP! Considering HRT.... HELP!

I am 3 months post op from total abd hysterectomy.( No ovaies, tubes, nothing left. It all had to go!!). Anyway, considering HRT because I am only 28 and the hot flashes, decreased libido, night sweats, and all that fun stuff are just WAY too much for me. Anyone in a similiar situation?? Or taking HRT or not taking HRT... and how is it working out for you??? PLEASE..let me know

Re: Considering HRT.... HELP!

Hi there! I just had my TAH with BSO on June 9th of this year and I'm only 31. I know exactly what you are going through!!! I've been on Estradiol since the day after my surgery. I started out with .5 mg and now am on 1mg. I'm just about to ask for more because I've been having A LOT of hot flashes. I personally felt comfortable going on HRT because I had a PBM (prophylactic bilateral mastectomy) in 2008 due to my BRCA2+ mutation and therefore knew that I no longer had any estrogen-rich organs or tissue in my body. I know for a fact, that my quality of life would be horrible if it weren't for the HRT. It has worked great for me. There are so many ways to do it too (patch, cream, pill, etc). Your doctor can work with you on what works best and tweak it if need be.
I think that we are way too young to suffer and therefore we should minimize the effects of this horrible, sugery-induced menopause!!!
