Concerned about C-Section scar tissue

I am scheduled for DaVinci on October 20 and was just wondering if anybody has had problems with hysty and scarring from C-section deliveries. Doc wants to do DaVinci, but says scarring may be an issue once he gets in.

Anybody have any comments? Thanks.

Re: Concerned about C-Section scar tissue

I'd be curious to hear as well. I have had three C sections and having DaVinci surgery on Nov 10th.

Re: Concerned about C-Section scar tissue

My oncologist had explained that because I've only had 2 c-sections that I was at an advantage for the DaVinci, because the tissue hasn't be stretched. My SIL is also a gynecological oncologist and had explained that because I only had c-sections I'm more at risk of bladder prolapse because of possible scar tissue. go figure! I had the Davinci almost 3 weeks ago, and the recovery has been so much easier than a c-section!

Good luck with both of your surgeries!!

Re: Concerned about C-Section scar tissue

I have had 4 c-sections but my doctor said that I would need an abdominal surgery due to the fact that your bladder will sometimes get glued to the scar tissue and the only way he can be for sure that it is out of the way during surgey is to do it abdominally.

Re: Concerned about C-Section scar tissue

I had an LSH on Sept. 13. I also had a C-section with my 2nd child. The doc said there was a possibility he would have to convert from LSH to open incision due to adhesions but wouldn't know until I was in surgery. Fortunately, although he did find adhesions from the C-section, he was able to clean them out laparoscopically and complete the surgery. It is pretty amazing what they can do nowadays! Good luck to you!
