Re: Whatcha' slackin on today?

With the holiday season starting up, I have to turn in my slacker card. I'm getting things done at church, getting ready for Thanksgiving at my Step-daughter's, then a trip to vegas the next week. I'll be spending the week working at a conference.

Re: Whatcha' slackin on today?

I'm really liking this slacker thing. I go back to work on December 13th and I don't know what I'm going to do without my afternoon nap. I may have to bring a blanket and pillow and hid under my desk for an hour! Our cat is loving having a nap buddy and it's going to be hard on him when our routine goes back to normal.

On the other hand, I think my DH will like not having to do everything around the house! He does have a new-found appreciation for everything I do around here!

Until I have to go back to work, I'm enjoying my slack-time.

Re: Whatcha' slackin on today?

Hmmmm....the holiday has been eating into my slacking time. Intended to take my preparations slowly this week, doing pies, cranberry sauce, and bread baking ahead of time so I didn't have to do it all at once. Unfortuantely, the water heater had other ideas and we were 3 days without hot water for dish washing which meant no cooking. New tank installed by 8:30 last night meant I was up after midnight doing said pies, etc.

Wouldn't you know it but insomnia reared its ugly head about 5:00 am? Wish I could slack today but my guys are expecting a turkey and dressing. Fortunately since it is just the 3 of us, I can serve late. Made breakfast and DH washed dishes. Planned the rest of the menu to be less labor intensive so DS will help me cook and I can get some rest in between things. Definitely slacking while everyone else is mall-hopping tomorrow. I start work on Monday and I need to be feeling ok.

Hope everyone has a blessed holiday and takes time out to be thankful and to express their thankfulness. Thankfulness unexpressed benefits no one.

Re: Whatcha' slackin on today?

Love this thread. Since I'm on the other side now, I started out the day staying in bed late while DH got kids off to school.
