This is more horrible than I remember it being from my last surgery!

My doc gave me instructions to drink two 32-oz Gatorade bottles with an entire bottle of Miralax laxative powder dispersed between them.

I have managed the get the first bottle down, but I am so ill.

Having a lot of trouble keeping this stuff down, and I feel like i've been rocking on a boat in rough seas for hours.

I'm supposed to drink the 2nd one now, but I know for sure I'll be sick if I do.

I keep telling myself: this too shall pass.

Does anyone else have trouble with this stuff or have tips?

Re: Bowel-prep

I had to do Mag Citrate in the morning and then take three doses each of two different antibiotic bases at certain intervals. I could only get through the 2nd dose, by the time I was supposed to take the 3rd I was actively ill and unable to swallow anything down.

When I told my doctor I couldn't handle the 3rd dose, he said it was all preventative and they just want it as cleaned out as possible. I figure I wasn't turning back because I never wanted to do another bowel prep again!

Hope all goes well for you!

Re: Bowel-prep

Oh, I am sorry this is difficult.
It will certainly pass.
Have you tried to call Dr. an ask someone there?
I will pray for you.

Re: Bowel-prep

So time IF you HAVE to drink that ask for nausea meds.
OR better yet ask for OSMOPREP pills, you take 20 every 15 minutes until gone (still take nausea pill).

Re: Bowel-prep

Thanks for the replies sisters. That was terrible! Worst part of the whole operation. The waiting the night before, and the cleansing was worse than the operation itself.

I mixed the Miralax with Gatorade, and now I never want to see gatorade ever again!
