I've read a lot about Vagifem on the forums. For many Sisters, it seems to cause less problems than other forms of topical HRT.
I really need to bring up Vagifem with my doctors since I have totally given up on using Estrace Cream - the irritation and side effects are just TOO MUCH for me to cope with.
BTW, how does Vagifem compare price wise to Estrace? I have no prescription drug coverage on my insurance plan and often get "sticker shock" when I go to the pharmacy!

TantaBobo, you can go to the Vagifem website and get a coupon that lasts for 6 months (I think that's the length of time) and only have to pay $10.00 each month during that time.
That's what I did.

I know this is an old post but I found it looking for answers so maybe someone else will too. But I have also had UTI's and I don't think this is caused by an irritation from the cream as some are saying. With such irritation in the Vagina and also in the urethra this sets up a place for the bacteria to grow. I have seen this mentioned on several women's forums. Women having cystitis along with the Vaginal dryness/irritation. I am wondering if I have some irritation from Estrace cream. But after going to my Nurse Practitioner who wanted me to get off of it because that was the problem I tried to. But after 10 days I still had external redness and increased internal pain. I had already made an apt with a Gynecologist. He wants me to get back on the cream but like some of you I am going to try the compounded Estridiol (sp) cream. Meantime my irritation and pain has worsened so I have tried starting on a smaller 1/2 gr dose of Estrace cream until I can get the other prescription. At least it is good to know I am not alone because I have had many health problems in my life but this has to be about the worst and so hard to treat. The best to any that are reading this and hope you can find some relief.
