Re: Estradiol

When you guys say estradiol...what do you men exactly...is there a pill that is just called estradiol...I know many forms of HRT have estradiol.
Thanks for clearing that up...since this thread is on estradiol and how good it makes one feel.

Yes, there is a pill that is just estradiol. Brand name is Estrace, but there is also a generic. And many of the patches talked about on these forums are just Estradiol.

Re: Estradiol

I have been on Estradiol since Mid June...within a week after my surgery and the only side effect I have from it is I am mean as a snake when I don't take it. My family calls it my Nice pill...I'm still happy just very mean at times.

Re: Estradiol

My pill bottle says Estradiol, 1 mg. It is $4 for a 30 day supply. Right after my hyst the Dr. put me on a patch, I don't remember what kind. It worked for a while but I noticed the effects wearing off before it was time to change patches. When I had my yearly check up with my regular Dr. she suggested I try Estradiol in pill form. Best $4 I spend every month!

Re: Estradiol

I haven't noticed headaches like I was so maybe it's not related at all... I have yet to have any menopausal symptoms and had surgery 2 weeks ago today. Granted I was looking forward to having a little more of a warm body temp... I freeze from September to June in the NW!! L ol

Re: Estradiol

Atanis, it takes a while to use up stores of estrogen...depending on how thin you are...the thinner you are the quicker you use them up.

Thanks for the information. No one else has told me that.

I'm a "big" girl and I've been wondering why the only real side effect that I've had from my surgery was the meaness and night sweats. Now I know.
