Just Curious: self-employed or home-based business?

Are any hystersisters self employed or have home-based businesses? Just curious because I know that some of our sisters have stated that they don't have jobs and maybe you all may have a job of interest.

Also for those of us who are looking for part-time employment

Re: Just Curious

I'm not one of them. I work a full time job from 7:30 am to 3 PM Monday through Friday and work a part-time job after that and on weekends putting in anywhere from 18 - 30 hours there. Lately it been closer to 30. I had 2 kids in college last year and DH is a contractor. So it was easier for me to take on the part time job than for him since he never knew what he would be working on.

I hope to leave my full time job in June of 2011 now that we are down to 1 child in college. I've been at my full time job for 30 years and don't like the work anymore. It's a desk job but I like the part time job where I'm constantly moving around.

Re: Just Curious: self-employed or home-based business?

I contract out to an office. Love my job of 11 years. I work 9-5, most days. If I need time off for something, or to leave early, I just tell the boss that I'll see him whenever. No work = no pay, but they give me 10 paid days a year to cover holidays.
