New here-Pain and bleeding 17 years post op

It's the first time I enter in this site and since I had an hysterectomy in 1993 and looking for an answer for my problem found this message. Forgive me if I'm not suppose to write here well as I said my problem is bleeding and pain and my doctor can not find what's wrong but it really bothers me that can't find an answer. Usually the bleeding last from a few hours to a day so when I reach the doctor office she doesn't see notting wrong . Thanks for your sharing.

Pupi and welcome to Hystersisters!

I'm sorry to hear you're having these issues so long since your hysterectomy. I'm not sure if you kept your ovaries and cervix. If you did it's possible to have what is called a miniperiod even though your uterus was removed, but that doesn't account for the pain you're having.

Write and let us know where your pain is and how often you are having it, plus a few more details about what kind of surgery you had done. It might help us help you better to know a little bit more about your situation. How often are you bleeding and is it bright red?

You might also want to consider getting a second opinion. There are several things that can cause bleeding this long past surgery, but the dr should be able to find the source and tell you why it's happening. I would encourage you to continue to looking for your answers.

We look forward to hearing from you again.

If you have your cervix you could be having mini periods. You should not be having that much pain with that though. You may want to have your hormones tested to see if that is causing some problems. I hope you find the answers soon & that you feel better.

I would definitely get a second opinion if your first doc is not doing any tests/scans to determine the cause of the bleeding. Please let us know what you find out.
