Hormone replacement and vegitarianism

I have some questions regarding hormone replacement... because of my age my doctor tells me I must take some type of hormone after my hysterectomy. I have not studied it enough yet, but have heard that replacement therapy may cause ostioparosis (sorry about the spelling error). I have been a vegitarian for 23 years and don't know if it would be safer to start eating meat to help with hormone replacement side effects.
Does anyone have any ideas, or similar questions?

Thank you!

Re: Hormone replacement and vegitarianism

Actually, ert can help to protect our bones. Where did you hear that it causes Osteoporosis? I do not recall reading that it causes it. I do recall reading somewhere that we can suffer alot of bone loss during the first year of surgical menopause. I'll have to dig around and see if I can find where I read that. It is important to take Calcium and magnesium and do weight bearing exercise (after you are recovered from surgery of course) to protect our bones.

I'm not sure why eating meat would help with hormone replacement?
