Okay, had my LSH-BSO on Monday the 25th. Have not taken any HRT as yet, sent me home with Vivelle Dot and told me to use it when I needed it, and I would know when! I of course hope to be able to cope without HRT but will certainly take it if the whole thing is horrible. Maternal GM had breast cancer so would like to TRY to avoid it.....
Day 4- I had my first "hot flash" not sure what it was really. I woke up and felt EXTREMELY weak and dizzy. I though maybe my blood sugar was low so I started toward the kitchen to get a pudding or something. But I could feel that I was fading, very near passing out, then I noticed that my stomach was in a riot. Not sure if I was going to throw up or have diarrhea. So I couldn't decide to keep heading toward the kitchen for the weakness or toward the bathroom to avoid the mess... Woke my Mom up and told her I felt funny. She jumped up and started catering to me. I was wimpering from the nausea and then the heat hit me. I was so hot that sweat started STREAMING off me, like water being poured over me, and it smelled BAD, not like normal sweat. I was so hot that I felt like I was cold around the edges, don't know how to explain it. She handed me the pudding but my hand could not hold the spoon, like literally my fingers were limp and couldn't grip it. We went and sat on the porch, her the whole time, saying calm down , just a hot flash, you'll get used to it. It all passed in about 5 mins. But it was horrible. Next morning she says that wasn't any kind of hot flash she had ever had, seemed to her like a hot flash and a night sweat and a panic attack all at once. It was really scary feeling and made me feel VERY sick, not at all the getting hot and flushed that I expected. And that sweat was not mine...LOL...

It smelled like a very dirty old man in an alley, where did that come from?

Anyone else have it like this in the very beginning? How long does that bad kind last?
ETA: oops forgot the part about my breasts. When this happened my breasts hurt really bad. I have never had any kids, but the sensation seemed to me like what women describe when their milk comes in. I just felt this heavy rush of weight to my breasts and then they ached and just moving around made them move a tiny bit and the movement was painful. After all was over I fell asleep and the breasts were just fine the next morning. Pain did not last.
Thanks so much,
Tracy
