4 wk post op and bleeding/pain have to travel

I need advice. I went to the Dr. yesterday due to spotting for the past 10 days. She seems to think the one ovary I have left is ovulating. It never hurt like this before. After my check up of which she did a pelvic exam and used that nasty silver nitrate stuff on the cervix- I've been in more pain and went through about 2 mini pads today.
How is this normal? I have sharp pains in the left side- how can that be ovulating pain. I never had that pain previously.
Also, Monday I have to fly to Orlando by myself for a business meeting- I am so not ready but have to go due to me having a new job and just getting back to work yesterday. Should I call the dr. again?

Re: 4 wk post op and bleeding/pain have to travel

After what seemed to me neverending discharge, last week I saw a nurse/midwife in my drs practice to get checked -- I also had left side pain off and on that didn't feel right to me. Last week I was at 8 wks and I had 3 weeks of yellowy discharge..Anyways - she tested it and said it was a-ok, no infection, and told me the same thing as your dr told you - she suspected I was ovulating - my ovaries were waking up. Pre surgery I think I was in so much pain everywhere all of the time that I didn't notice ovulation any case, the pain only lasted 2 days and then went away completely, and so did the discharge. I had a 2nd surgery to remove a hematoma and a drain was placed on my left side - very near where my ovary is located - I think maybe thats why my ovary hurt so bad waking up-the whole area inside there always hurt more than anywhere else. If your pain persists I would definitely call the dr - for peace of mind. Take care and good luck!
