Progesterone (Aygestin) & dizziness?

My doctor prescribed Aygestin (Progesterone) for me today to stop bleeding so that I can have LEEP & cone biopsy on Monday (we were supposed to do it this monday, but even on continuous BCP I apparently am having a period). This bleeding has been 10 days now (UGH!) and yes, I just want to get this over with so I know if I have cancer or not.

Anyway, I'm feeling kind of dizzy and wondering if anyone else experienced this while taking progesterone. I do see that dizziness is listed as a side effect for this med.

Just wondering because I also have a balance disorder (can you say "falling apart"? lol). So it's hard to tell if that's flaring up or if it's the medication.

Thanks for any input & I hope this is the proper forum for this question.

Re: Progesterone (Aygestin) & dizziness?

Hi

I see you are scheduled for your LEEP and biobsy today.

I hope the dizziness didn't cause you any serious problems. Did you discuss this with your Dr ? He/she would be the best person to help you find out the cause.

I hope your tests come back with good news. Please keep us posted.

Re: Progesterone (Aygestin) & dizziness?

Thanks Kay. I will discuss it with her today. The Rx was called in Friday and they were closed all weekend so I haven't had a chance to talk to her yet. Though, the dizziness and sleepiness are getting better. I will still mention it to her.

Thank you again

I am on natural progesterone but yes, one of the effects of too much progesterone is dizziness.

Re: Progesterone (Aygestin) & dizziness?

I told her about it yesterday and she said it was normal. It's gotten a lot better since the first day or two and I'm only on it until the end of the week so not too bad. Thanks for the input ladies.
