Bladder suspension

Had surgery on Nov 1. Catheter was removed on Nov. 5. Today I have a pressure sensation. Am emptying bladder ever two hours. Is this sensation normal or could I have UTI? There as a lot of poking around. Still feel like catheter is in. Really don't want it back. Hesitate to call in fear of having cath reinserted. I was hoping that after surgery I would have no more "heaviness". Appreciate any advice. Still a little sore but moving around as much as possible in fear of straining myself and ruining surgery. Not sure just how I am supposed to feel.

Re: Bladder suspension

I had the urethral sling, and I know that if I had pressure, I would have been calling my doctor. I did feel like peeing was different for me in comparison to pre-op, but I didn't have any pressure. I do, on the other hand, have bladder spasms from time to time, and hope to address that with my doc on Wednesday when I see him.

Re: Bladder suspension

I'm now 10 days post-op. For the first few days, I felt mild pressure and that uncomfortable feeling in my urethra like the catheter was still in. I had mine in for less than 24 hours. I'd imagine it would still be tender after 4 days with the cath. Are you on an anti-biotic? My urologist put me on one as a preventive for the first week post-op, so I wasn't worried about a UTI.

You might put in a call to your in the morning just to be sure.

Take care!
