Can We Share Some Humor?

Sisters, kicking all the aches and pains aside, forgetting all the seriousness of our surgeries and treatments, sometimes a little laughter can be the best medicine. Anyone got a laugh to share .. here's mine .. in my pre-op questionnaire, there was a section about sexual activity, if it was important in your life and how you rated your activity. At 63, I didn't want to sound like an old fuddy duddy and write down occasional, so I chose the line that said frequent sexual activity and then I added the word VERY! The day of my surgery I admitted my remarks to my husband who said .. thanks for filling me in, you have a VERY vivid imagination!! We still laugh about it now, 6 weeks today from my surgery. I think the support here is one of the best things I've found online and hope there's many of you who can make me laugh with a silly happening in your journey thru this craziness! Nancy

Re: Can We Share Some Humor?

The first couple of times I got up and went to the bathroom, it couldn't get myself situated correctly on the seat to hit the hat in the bowl. Therefore, I peed in the floor. It was embarrassing, but oh well!

Also, my DH had to help me pull up my panties for the first day. He said it was the first time he'd ever pulled them on instead of taking them off. We laughed about that one too!

Re: Can We Share Some Humor?

My hubby and I had joked about what it would be like if there was vaginal packing. Lucky for me...there was vaginal packing...As my doctor was pulling the packing out the day after surgery...I said..."Wow it really is like the hanky trick!" My dr just chuckled and agreed that yeah it is a bit like that.

Re: Can We Share Some Humor?

I don't know if this is funny. But at my two week post op appointment, my DR reached out his hand to help me up and being use to using my legs, I kicked my leg out and almost kicked him in his you know what. I felt so bad, so glad I missed.

Can We Share Some Humor?

My 10 year old came in to visit the same night as my surgery and proceeded to punch my leg as hard as she could... She thought I had an epidural like my c-section!

Ouch, but it was pretty funny, I was expecting a nice hug!

Re: Can We Share Some Humor?

Kind of long story, I'll try to make it short(er):

My mom has a long hair cat that looks homeless. She has really matted fur, won't let my mom brush her or anything so my mom was talking about having her groomed. On the way to the hospital I saw a building that said "Brazillian Waxing" on the side we were approaching, and as we passed the building I glanced at the left hand side and it said "Pretty Kitty".

My mom just saw the "Pretty Kitty" part of the sign and wondered if they could groom her cat. I told her what the other side of the building said, and we just busted up. I told her if either one of us could pull it off w/out getting the giggles we should call. Can you imagine the conversation?

"Hi! I was wondering if you could groom my kitty. I'm not sure how it happened, but the hair is all matted and there are big knots in it."

Re: Can We Share Some Humor?

I had gone to my gyno for months after my hyster complaining of pain and cramping at vaginal cuff area. While the gyno was performing an internal exam the doc turned to my husband and sd in his asian accent "your wife's vagina is long and supple". Well, that was a first. So to this day my DH will ask me how my vagina is today and I always respond "long and supple".

Re: Can We Share Some Humor?

Keep 'em coming! I need these laughs! Mine was when I got the Versed before surgery and I started talking about sliding across the hood of the General Lee. Then I lost all my memory after that...lol
