Re: Can We Share Some Humor?

During the infection time my DD called an ambulance and told the dispatch very clearly "my mom had a hyster 4 weeks ago"to which the dispatch replied "is she pregnant?"

We still laugh about that one

Oh and after losing my memory to Versed...apparently they test to see just how "out" you are by touching your eyelashes. The nurse did this and to it I replied, "What that a cat!" She laughed and told me about it later...

Re: Can We Share Some Humor?

At my 6 week check-up my GYN had a med student with him. GYN did the internal exam and then asked if it was OK if the med student could also. Med student said one word: "Interesting."

I didn't even think and said back: "that's not the word I was expecting, but at 52 I'll take it."

Med student was embarrased, but the GYN wasn't and said that gave me some excitement in my life.

This is the same Gyn, but different med student, who at my 2 week incision check-up said that he doesn't call it a belly fold, he calls it a "dulap" because it "do lap over."

Re: Can We Share Some Humor?

Thanks for the hearty laughs .. the brazilian wax story was priceless! I'm trying to keep my sense of humor about all this .. when I first got out of bed in the hospital to go to the bathroom, the nurse was stunned when I said what the he__ is this, referring to the pad they had put on me .. why, I haven't worn one of those in about 15 yrs! And those disposable panties they give you to wear? I mean what is funnier than that?

Re: Can We Share Some Humor?

I came home with a catheter (for seven days!!) due to a nick in the bladder, and needed help from the DH to change from my daytime portable bag to my nighttime high capacity bag - all very sexy as you can imagine. To make the whole process easier the hospital gave me a bunch of pairs of mesh underwear. Well, as the days of recovery went on me and the DH got a little punchy and made up a whole schtick about how hot the meshies get him. The night we finally got the go ahead for nookie I slid a pair on under my nightgown, we both laughed so hard when he found them that it almost spoiled the mood - ALMOST.

Maybe there's some truth to all those stories about the meshies!

Priceless! Make sure to put a pair of those on for your anniversary!

Re: Can We Share Some Humor?

I love all the funny stories!

Several weeks after my hysterectomy, I had a boil in an embarrassing place that needed to be lanced. I went to a general surgeon. Long, gross story short... I was to expect some leakage from the boil for a week and he told me I could use a maxi pad to protect my clothes. Of all things... a maxi pad! After all the pads had been gleefully tossed in the trash, I needed one again. I just can't get away from the dang things!

Re: Can We Share Some Humor?

Ok, here's my bit of gyno humor. I have a very sexy pair of high heeled, knee high black leather boots. I was wearing the boots with my jeans at an appointment, when the Doc decides he needs to do a pelvic. I thought it would be funny to don the paper wrap from the waist down and leave the boots on.

Re: Can We Share Some Humor?

My step-daughter & I were texting each other after my pre-op. We joked about comparing scars, then I told her "It's official. I'm having a c-section & going to give birth to a uterus". After that, I asked if she wanted the pads & tampons that I would no longer need. Later, I told her we gave the ute up for adoption & the pathologist took it.

Re: Can We Share Some Humor?

Here's mine... Before I went into surgery I thought about it and realized I probably wouldn't be able to groom down there for awhile afterwards. It also occurred to me that lots of people may be checking me down there after surgery so I shaved a fancy design..
I felt empowered when different people checked down there as I watched their faces for reaction... lol

(A month later when I was up to it it was really hard to shave down there - let alone design anything... ) No more pretty kitty for me!
