First try calling your doctor. If they can't call in a script, ask if they have any programs for uninsured patients. They should be able to help you out.

Many doctors & their related hospitals have private programs for those who can't cover medical bills. It may be a bit of paperwork, but the hospital I go to offered to discount anywhere from 20%-100% of out-of-pocket costs. The discount was based upon income.

There are usually clinics available as well. I know here we have one in the city.

Estradiol (the genderic for Estrace I believe) only costs me $11/month without rx coverage. My 3 month supply now costs less than 1 month for my previous medication. Make sure you explain prescription cost to your doctor as well so they can keep that in mind!
