Re: Surgery canceled

(((((((((hugs))))))))))))). Have you gotten a second opinion? I ended up with three opinions that all agreed I needed it.

Re: Surgery canceled

If your doctor has concerns that he feels he can't address, it's time to get a referral. Since he knows what his concerns are, you might ask him what your next course of action is, since I'm sure he would agree you can't just keep on bleeding.

Re: Surgery canceled

How frustrating! Did your doctor say WHY he didn't want to perform your surgery?

{Hugs} for you.

Re: Surgery canceled

Lori- if you truly feel suicidal, please go to the emergency room or call 800-273-8255. You don't have to feel this way.

Re: Surgery canceled

Lori B,

What a let down after all the waiting. I did read one thread on here about a woman that was not going to have her surgery because of her weight and being diabetic. She consulted another doctor, and ended up being able to have her surgery after all. I would not want a doctor to perform any procedure he/she didn't want to do. Hang on and something better will work out for you.

Re: Surgery canceled

Lori B, what I hear is that he isn't comfortable doing it -- not that it can't be done. It is certainly upsetting that you got as far as you did only to find this out, but it doesn't mean that there isn't any surgeon anywhere that can help you. I understand, though, that you may feel like you just can't work the system any more. Was your current doctor unwilling to give a referral, or did he just not know where to go? Do you know other women who have GYNs they can recommend?
