I found a Dr!!

I am super excited and happy! I had a Dr visit with a new Dr a month ago. She mentioned changing my HRT but asked me to research it first...BCP's. I told her today that I don't want to go that route. She was fine with this and basically told me that I can do what I want with HRT and she will just sit back and let me! Wow!!! She said that I have obviously done my research and she trusts me. All she asked is that I let her check my blood levels every 3 months. This is exactly the kind of Dr I have been searching for over the past 3 years. All of those Dr's appts to find the right Dr for me (and hitting the brick walls!) have finally paid off. Today was a great day for me.

Re: I found a Dr!!

Hi Jennifer!

I'm glad you found a new doctor you like. Mine is the same way--I tell him what I want and he writes the prescriptions. It wasn't like that at first, of course, while I was still learning how to clear my own path through the Hormone Jungle. He said as long as what I'm asking for is reasonable, that it works for me and that I'm keeping up with my checkups, it's fine with him.

I'm glad your doctor search is over!

Re: I found a Dr!!

GREAT News!! It is so hard to find a dr. who will listen and I think even though they have had medical training, it is US who know our bodies and with all the reading, learning we do to help us feel better, sometimes WE can know more than they do! Congratulations!!! Let us know how you are doing and what the plan of action is!!!

Re: I found a Dr!!

Thanks Ladies. It is nice to have women who understand and who I can share this with. My family and friends just look at me and don't really understand why I went from Dr to Dr and why I am so ecstatic. sigh!

The plan is to stay on what I am on. It is working for me so why change it? :O) My previous Dr wanted to change it. UGH!
