maternity pants?

Hi all, my surgery is scheduled for mid January 2011 so I'm pulling together my list now. I'd like to get a loose pair of knit pants for the ride home and days after.

I keep looking at the maternity pants at Target... big fold over waistband (think yoga pants) knit and roomy. $15 or so, so I can get a pair and ditch them when I can get into my jeans again.
I guess it's pretty ironic to wear maternity pants to have one's uterus removed but they sure look comfy.

Anybody out there ever consider this?

Re: maternity pants?

I have been living in the American Eagle Sweats. They are loose fitting, have a drawstring that can adjust from tight to loose, and they are stylish. You can buy them for 25 bucks online. Before you order them, open a new tab and type in "American Eagle Promotion Code" to get a discount on your order or free shipping. I ordered 2 pairs and have been living in them... LOVE THEM!

Re: maternity pants?

I bought several pairs of knit pants from Walmart and a couple of sweat pants too for colder days. I wanted to be able to put on a clean pair every time I showered and not have to do laundry every day or two. They have been a lifesaver for the last 3 weeks. I did wear a pair of jeans yesterday, but I couldn't wait to get them off when I got back from visiting relatives. I have swelly belly worse in the evenings. One more thing that I have loved is light control panty girdles. I also bought a couple of heavier support girdles, but they are too much and hurt to wear them.

Re: maternity pants?

You will definitely want something comfy to wear. I lived in pajama bottoms (my husbands) and yoga pants when I went out. I also bought oversized undies, I had an TAH so I didn't like anything rubbing on the incision. Sounds like the pants you are looking at would be perfect, it's all about comfort!
