my odd pets

Well I did have a cat..... but unfortunately it ran away. Her name was Agnes.

Now all that I have are some chooks ( thats what we call chickens here in Australia) I have 2 red ones, 2 black australorps ( australias own breed) , I black and white spotted one, a silver laced wyandotte and a bantam.
Now ..... I just love them ,clucking around and they run to the gate when I go to feed them. They eat my scraps and reward me with my very own eggs.
I have abit of a sense of humour and I have decorated the hen house with things, they have a chandelier hanging inside and lots of old cups hanging in the pear tree in their pen.
The chicken manure is great for the garden.

Next thing I want to get are some ducks . Still trying to convince dh that I need them though

Talking - my odd pets Chooka Chooka Chan

That is so neat, Robyn! Sounds like a musical band!

I used to have a terrarium (sp?) full of...this is so gross now...garden snakes! And I positively HATE snakes now...almost to a point of a phobia! Ewwww!

I LOVE fish...aquariums and ponds...so cool! And so peaceful to fall asleep by an aquarium light and bubbles! I just got Ashleigh one of those water lilias and betta fishies in a vase thing...and she loves it! Oh...and Katie...we made it with leopard spotted rocks!

I also had gerbils as a kid...remember Habitrails? I had them all across a room! Another "ewww" that I loved as a kid! The thing is...we would get two...and then have 100's within a month!

Talking - my odd pets I have a ZOO

I swear I have a zoo. When my youngest DS had to do a poster titled "All About Me" I just had to list all of his pets. We have 4 birds, 1 bulgie(parakeet) 2 cockatiels 1 Mexican Red Headed Amazon that talks. He's a bit loud sometimes when he's yelling but when you walk in he says "hello bird","how are you", "I'm a good bird", "I love you", "I'm a dork" then when I'm talking to my DS he says "what?" He's a real hoot at times sometimes I can talk to him more then my DH. Then we have 3 dwarf hamsters, 3 red ear sliders turtles, 2 sugar gliders, a betta in a vase and 125 gal aquarium with about 18 fish. The prize being a 12" Australian Jardini Arowana. We recently lost our long time fish of 3.5 years a Silver Arowana. He was like a member of our family and was over 2 feet long. This just what we have right now. We have had finches, canaries, guinea pig, rabbit, snake, iguana, newts, frogs, toads, skinks and geckos a 5, 10, 29 and 55 gal aquariums salt and freshwater. We can't have dogs or cats because we live in an apartment but the landlord said anything that you can kept in a cage. We tell what we are getting and he has had no problem so far. My husband out side of his regular job helps a local pet shop out that he is friends with. Sometimes I wonder what he'll bring home next or what I'll have to clean up after.
