TAH: Bowel Prep today not so bad

Hi

I'm going in tomorrow at long last and am currently doing the dreaded bowel prep with Citramag.

You know what it's no where near as bad as i thought, sometimes ladies too much information can scare you.

Had a slice of toast and cup of black coffee Took first dose at 10am, it took about 90 mins to really start working but as you can see I am having time between "visits " to type this.lol

Took everyones advice, am armed with large pot of vasaline, aloe vera wipes and soft paper. Am drinking plenty of fluids and generally dont feel too bad.

I am in the Uk but guess things are done no differently here than in the rest of the world.

Glad it's not been overly difficult for you. I honestly found that I was as anxious about bowel prep as I was about surgery itself. Both went better than I expected. Anticipation is the worst.

Remember to stay well hydrated today. I thought I had tried to, but they had trouble getting an IV started on me when I checked in at the castle.

good to hear!! I am getting ready to start mine @ noon, according to my Dr. directions. Mine includes 2 ducolax tab at noon followed by a miralax gatorade mixture at 4 and 8pm, then a fleets enema at bedtime. I think the hardest part for me is not having any food. The food thing was my worry but to be honest you don't really fancy it I'm allowed clear liquid so have had clear veg soup coffee water and yellow jelly lol what joy good luck tomorrow I'm sure we will be fine

Thanks for the helpful input..I have to do my prep on wed along with liquid diet .Have been apprehensive about it all but reading your posts make it seem not so bad. Surgery on thur morning...just trying to keep hydrated,rested,and nerves at bay.

Finished my prep, sipping black coffee..15 hours n counting

Finished counting op done had vertical cut in the end but I feel ok considering I only came out of surgery about 4.5 hours ago now also sipping black coffee
