bruising in lower abdomen, 7 days post-op

Hi. I just today was riding as a car passenger for about 3 hours total. When I got home I noticed my abdomen felt more sore .I looked in the mirror and I have black and green bruising. But probably not from being in the car today - yesterday I was in the car for about an hour max, as a passenger.

could it be from the seat belt? Or is this surgery-related, but I did not see it before? It is kind of shady there when I look without a mirror, and is not noticeable. I can see it clearly in the mirror though.

Re: bruising in lower abdomen, 7 days post-op

Hi there
Yes, it's normal in my experience. My bruising was more noticeable as the days went by, it was at it's peak about 7-14 days after surgery.

It's a good idea to place a pillow/cushion between your tummy and the seatbelt whilst being in a car to protect against any sudden braking etc.

Take care :-)

wow, thank you, Michelle. So it sounds like the usual result from surgery. I was worried I was doing too much - I want to go out again today - I'm helping my daughter with legal problems. I counted 5 crises in the last month with my family - then stopped counting. Arg ! Things are better tho.
