exhaustion

I had my TAH/including ovaries on 12/29. on Friday 1/6 I began taking Estradiol 0.1 mg. I dont know if it is the recovery process or the HRT, but, I am exhausted, I don`t feel like doing a thing. I just feel so blah. Anyone else had this or have opinions as to which it might be? I am so tempted to take off this patch. lol

Re: exhaustion

Honestly I believe it is the natural course of healing from major surgery and from what I've read here from other sisters, the energy level starts getting better week 3. Everybody is different though. On 12/28/10 I had RALH no ovaries and Dr put me on vivelle .5 patch and I cannot go a whole day without a nap, but the hours I stay awake is getting abit longer each day. It will get better.=)

Re: exhaustion

I had my TAH 12.21 and I am exhausted also. No naps during day now, and I have noticed that every day, every outing, I am able to tolerate just a little bit more. I walk laps in my driveway (it's a longer drive), I began with 4, now I am up to 10!

Re: exhaustion

Yes it's the surgery, hormones don't help, but it takes a long time to get past the exhaustion. I've actually noticed it more on week 3 now that I've been up taking longer walks and doing things, my body just gives out on me and I feel like I haven't slept in days. Honestly it's worst than any exhaustion I've felt from any flu, I usually can fight through anything after all my other surgeries I was up the next day, but keep in mind your body has been through so much. Nothing you can do but do a little at a time and rest.
