Unhappy - TAH Feb 1 - I have questions!! TAH Feb 1 - I have questions!!

I am also perimenopausal at 35. NO estrogen produced at all and my gyne refusing to give me HRT. I am on the cream vaginally for atrophic vaginitis but have hot flashes, severe mood swings with thoughts of suicide and no energey at all. Can't sleep. Diagnosed and confirmed PCOS and trying for ovarian removal since my ovaries hurt and do not work at all. So why keep them?? HIGH testosterone count and FSH is high. NO estradiol was in my blood or urine. I don't suppose this helps my moods???

Re: suffering severe pre hysterectomy depression

Oh darling I hear ya! PCOS is no fun. I remember when I was first diagnosed with it and my obgyn accidentially made one of the cysts really mad. It hurt so bad after the exam I needed midol and 1/2 an hour before I could stand up and walk out to the car.

And don't even talk to me about the mustache or those darn hairs on my chin or boobs.

Yah know I kinda wish I'd found a new doctor a lot sooner. It sound like my new Gynocologist might actually be able to address some of my PCOS questions as well as the fibroids.

What do you think your chances of finding a different doctor are? A new Gyn might be better able to help you with what's going on. I'm on this big "Get a Second Opinion!!!" Kick right now, so that's why I'd like to encourage you to think about it.

Re: TAH Feb 1 - I have questions!!

I have PCOS too and have the facial hair too boot I am 2 weeks post TAH ovaries in place and I too was having pre menopausal symptoms it was hell. My gyne checked the ovaries and only 1 cyst was found so there both inside. The reason is it's far better for you to go into a natural menopause rather than a surgical instant one. My gyne said even if there was a year left in them then they stay. You have to remember that the ovaries are not the cause of PCOS it's a symptom. The hormones come from the piturity gland. PCOS will still be here just we won't have the abnormal periods to worry about but will still have the insulin probs weight issues and hair. Hope this helps you to understand
