Hormone Cream/Gel?

My hysterectomy is tomorrow (jan.21) and I"m having everything removed, including ovaries. I'm 54 and going thru menopause, so I already know about the heat flashes. However, my doctor tells me that they could get much worse after surgery, and if so, she can prescribe me a hormonal gel/cream that you rub on your arm?? Anyone else familiar with using this? And if so,,,what are the risks with this type of product, compared to the hormonal scares otherwise?

I am assuming that your doctor is talking about Estrasorb or Estrogel. While I haven't used either of these two products, I do use a compounded hormone cream for my ert. For me; it has worked well. Do keep in mind that everyone is different. It is a place to start.

P.S. I've been using hrt for 11+ years now, with my doctors blessing and after the media scares, which IMHO were just that scares, and hysteria by an uniformed media.
