HRT Will I need it right away?

My surgery is scheduled for March 1st. I am retaining my ovaries and cervix. What is the time frame for HRT? I know my ovaries will eventually stop functioning for the most part. I have not experienced night sweats...can I expect those? I also experience severe fatique. Will the surgery help with that? Will taking hormones cause me to put weight on? Prometrium caused me to swell terribly. Can anyone give me an idea of what I might expect post surgical? I have so many questions. I know not all women are the same. Just wondering????

Re: HRT Will I need it right away?

ask your Dr., but mine gave me a Hormone shot before I left the hospital. I was still moody, had mild hot flashes, night sweats and Insomnia but probably not nearly as bad if I hadn't had the shot. Try to avoid spicy foods and alcohol so you can tell the difference between normal symptoms and those caused by what is being put in your body.
