just started Estradiol

I just started Estradiol today. I have been suffering from depression, anxiety, crying spells, blood pressure fluctuation, no sex drive and weight gain.

The Dr. told me my body just noticed after 3 months that it was running on very little or no estrogen. I had a TAH but they left a tiny piece of one ovary that was attached to the lower bowel.

I hope this works. I'm a little worried since both sides of my family (not breast or uterus) have a cancer history.

I suffered from depression before but the anxiety level is off the charts. The Dr. took a blood test for my thyroid and other hormones and a CBC.

Any suggestions?

Re: No Ovaries - Don't Want to Take Estradiol

I cannot live without estradiol and progesterone. It makes life so much easier. I need the balance of both.

Have read that you need to maintain an estradiol level of at least 90 to maintain bone health. Hope this helps. Sounds like you need to balance the estrogen with some progesterone. But you need to have a good level of estrogen before adding progesterone. Hope this helps.
