bizzare emotions (kids mentioned)

My hormones must be way outta whack!! Last night dh and I were watching a movie and one of the characters was pregnant and gave birth during the movie. I started to bawl and stutter about how I would never be able to have children again. Now I already have 3 healthy, happy boys AND had a tubal ligation done over 2yrs ago because I didn't want to have anymore children. Needless to say dh was very confused. I'm also confused, I didn't want any more kids, my family is complete. I still don't want anymore kids and have no idea why seeing pregnancy and birth would trigger a long dead tug on my heart. It makes me second guess myself and I feel silly for doing that when I know I don't have a choice in the matter. Anyone else have these bizzare emotions in the waiting period?

Re: bizzare emotions (kids mentioned)

I also am struggling with similar emotions. I can't explain why I feel this way. Good to hear that I am not the only one. I go into tomorrow to schedule my hysterectomy and do a consultation.

Yup, I'm feeling the same. The wierdest part is I don't have kids and never even wanted them! From what I read in the forums here, it is completely normal.

Re: bizzare emotions (kids mentioned)

Me too.

...and like the previous poster, I have no kids and have never wanted them...

DH was beyond confused.. I think he was ready to have me committed! he was great though, kept talking me through it, we're so much closer after this.

...and btw, a week after surgery I melted down again.. I can't remember what triggered, likely just exhaustion. I really thought after surgery I wouldn't feel this way anymore. Since then, no more melting, so far.
