Re: Bio-identical hormone replacements

There is pharmaceutical bio identical hormone replacement that is available. By non-pharm do you mean from a Compounding Pharmacy where the hormones are made to order?

You can learn more about hormones in the articles at www.hormonejungle.com

Re: Bio-identical hormone replacements

I am also having surgery on 3/1 and have been researching bioidenticals. I am told they are the way to go. I am 48 and removing it all - scared to death but ready. I will check out that website as well. Have not liked what I have read about the patch or others. Women I have spoken with are very happy with them. Good luck I hope we are all sane and well balanced afterwards! Let me know how it goes.

fabfibroids, I like your user name. I had fibroids too. I'm 54 and had everything removed almost 4 months ago. I've been on the Vivelle Dot patch since the day of my surgery and have been very happy with it. It is a bioidentical hrt. Because of it, I haven't experienced any of the post-menopausal symptoms that I've read about. No sleep problems, hot flashes, mood swings, etc. I am thankful that my gynecologist for recommending that I try it. Most doctors have Vivelle dot samples that you can try for a couple of weeks to see if you like it.
This site has been a godsend to me. Keep reading and posting, it really helps. I wish you all the best with your upcoming surgery and recovery.
