Tired after treatment #2

Hi again. I had my second external radiation treatment today. Yesterday's was cancelled due to a problem with the machine. When I HAD to take a nap a few hours after my first treatment, I thought I might be paranoid, but I was fine yesterday and today, WHAM! I crashed again! 2 1/2 hour nap! My boyfriend woke me up, but I really just wanted to keep sleeping. I don't want to mess up my sleep pattern, either.

This just bites because I still have 23 more treatments to go! :burning: And I'll admit it, I'm a wimp when it comes to these things!

Ok. Just had to vent, but if anyone can offer any more input, it is more than welcome.

Thanks!
Steph

Oh steph , sorry to hear that you are still feeling tired. Do you have a chance to talk to your radiologist about it? I am not sure what you can do.
When I was beginning my treatment , I made a promise to myself , that if I got tired , I would nap. It is not forever and if you can have a nap when you need to , you will probably cope better. Sleep patterns will return when you finish.

When I was having my treatments , I would lie on the table and think that I was surrounded with angels and feel the presence of God with me, that made me alot calmer. Maybe you could try something like this, it may help the stress levels , therefore lessening the tiredness. Just a few thoughts here

Any way you take care , much love always x x x

Tired after treatment #2

Hi Steph!

I haven't had any personal experience with radiation but I know I sure was tired with the chemo. So, whenever I could I was napping and really it didn't disturb my regular sleep all that much.

I agree wholeheartedly with the gals, don't feel guilty about taking a nap if your body is telling you it needs it. It helps tremendously get your energy back up for the next go around.

Best to your on the remainder of your treatments, keep it up gal! You're doing great!!!!
