Re: Surgical Menopause

You will find some good information in the articles at

One thing to keep in mind is that everyone is different, thus my experience may not be the same as yours. Some women don't have many symptoms, while others get them full force.

My personal experience was that I had symptoms almost immediately, even whilst using a hormone patch. Hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings. Later on the nausea and headaches started. I now know that this was probably from fluctuating hormone levels as my body recovered from surgery and used up its stored reserves of hormones. If I had been a bit more patient it probably would not have taken me a year to find balance. Patience is a virtue when it comes to hormones.

Here I am 11 years later, happily balanced and have been for 10.

Best wishes to you on your upcoming surgery.

Re: Surgical Menopause

I am 39 also and had a full hyst last year. For me it was the best thing in my life. Like you I had endo and was in constant pain. I went with out hormones till a month ago.. I was fighting it, not sure why. I was scared that it would cause mood swings, weight gain, bloating, pimples. But the put me on the vivelle dot and I feel awesome now.

Good luck to you! Read, read and read the postings on this board they will help you a ton!
