So much anxiety 13 months after TAH

hello - i had a TAH 1/3/10, ever since them I'm not the same. Crying all the time, anxious all the time. have been on many different meds and nothing is working. i've had my hormone levels checked for the 3rd time and am awaiting results. i just cant stand feeling this way. currently using evamist once a day. currently taking zoloft to help with symptoms. i used to be so strong and confident, now feel helpless and anxious. what is going on? and how can i fix it? any suggestions would be so appreciated..i really need help from other women who have or are going through this

Re: So much anxiety 13 months after TAH

I have had anxiety issues since high school. Since my total hysterectomy less than a month ago it had gone through the roof. I am a big believer of going the natural way. Don't laugh but meditation progressive relaxation and exercise help a lot. Exercise being the biggy. Also no sugar caffiene basically eating healthy. Not easy but it works if you are religious with it. Takes a while but in my opinion better than the meds. Edward bournes anxiety and phobia workbook is am excellant resource. Good luck hope this helps.

Re: So much anxiety 13 months after TAH

Hello - I have the same issue - but it has improved! (never had this issue before hysterectomy 21 months ago) I started using my vivelle dot on my backside - which seemed to help!...and change it every 3 1/2 days. Also - exercise is a biggy and make sure you get plenty of sleep. I am also on a low dose of cymbalta. Finally - I take vitamins - there is a list on this website that recommends what to take if you are on extrogen! Don't worry - it is slow - but you will feel better! Take care and God Bless!

Re: So much anxiety 13 months after TAH

Maybe the evamist is not enough estrogen for you. Anxiety can be a sign of low estrogen symptoms. I have seen from other posts here that one spray of evamist typically isn't enough for those of us in surgical menopause.
